Why specify Fluorosilicone for o-rings?

Fluorosilicone is the substitute for silicone when the application requires superior chemical resistance, particularly to fuels and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is effective against oxidizing chemicals, ozone, aromatic chlorinated solvents, and bases, while retaining most of silicone's temperature range. A common aerospace and fuel-system specification.

Fluorosilicone tolerances and customization

Standard dimensional tolerances on Fluorosilicone o-ringsland around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material durometer and thickness. Tighter tolerances are available on select grades. Cannon Gasket cuts Fluorosilicone to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume.
