### Chemical resistance
Broadest chemical resistance of any elastomer, fuels, acids, oils, aromatics, chlorinated solvents, and hydraulic fluids. Not recommended for ketones, esters, or amines.

Viton® (fluorocarbon, FKM) exhibits the highest level of chemical resistance and offers the broadest range of chemical resistance in our O-ring inventory. Viton withstands a wider temperature range than most elastomers and resists gasoline swelling and UV / ozone deterioration.

### How Viton O-Rings Perform
- Continuous service from -20°F to +400°F (compound dependent).
- Resistant to fuels, oils, solvents, ozone, UV, and a broad range of aggressive chemicals.
- Lower compression set than Buna-N in oil and fuel service.

### When to Choose Another Material
For oil-only contact at moderate temperature, Nitrile is more economical. For water / steam / outdoor service, EPDM. For ketones and esters, Viton is incompatible.
