Fluorosilicone Diaphragms.
Cannon Gasket has the Capability to produce high strength, tear resistant diaphragms for your most critical and demanding applications. Diaphragms are commonly used in high pressure applications where the material must be flexible yet durable enough to withstand repeated flexing over a long period of time. Materials are integrated with reinforcing fabrics to improve application performance and durability, along with Capabilities to maintain responsiveness to variations in pressure. Common Diaphragm Fabrics include; Nylon, Dacron® / Polyester, Nomex®, Kevlar®, Fiberglass, Silk and Cotton. Fluorosilicone (FVMQ) pairs the fuel and oil resistance of fluoroelastomers with the wide temperature flexibility of silicone, so the diaphragm keeps responding through extreme hot and cold swings that would stiffen a standard fuel-resistant rubber.

Properties of Fluorosilicone diaphragms
Cannon Gasket cuts Fluorosilicone diaphragms to your exact specifications. Fluorosilicone exhibits excellent resistance to jet fuel, gasoline, oils, aromatic and chlorinated solvents, ozone, and oxidizing chemicals, while retaining flexibility across extreme temperature swings.
Fluorosilicone tolerances and customization
Standard dimensional tolerances on Fluorosilicone diaphragms land around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material thickness and profile. Tighter tolerances are available on selected grades. Cannon Gasket cuts Fluorosilicone to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume. PSA backing, pad printing, custom packaging, and kitting are all on the menu when you need them.
How Fluorosilicone Performs
That combination makes fluorosilicone the material of choice for aerospace fuel-system and avionics diaphragms, where a pressure-sensing membrane has to flex reliably across the full flight envelope while contacting jet fuel, additives, and aromatic solvents. Each diaphragm is produced to your geometry, durometer, and convolution profile for consistent stroke and long cycle life.
