Terms of Use.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing cannongasket.com (the “Site”), using any engineering tool, estimator, or reference resource hosted here, or submitting a Request for Quote (“RFQ”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
Cannon Gasket, Inc. (“Cannon Gasket,” “we,” “us”) may revise these terms at any time. The current version is always posted at /terms-of-use/. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Permitted site use
The Site is provided for engineers, buyers, distributors, and industry professionals researching non-metallic sealing components. You may download reference material (spec sheets, PDFs, Claude Skill files) for use in your own engineering workflows. You may not scrape, republish, or resell Site content without written permission.
You must be at least 18 years old to submit an RFQ or enter into any commercial agreement with Cannon Gasket.
3. Engineering tools and estimators
Cannon Gasket provides several free engineering tools at /tools/, including the DXF Instant-Quote Estimator, the AS568 O-Ring Size Chart, the Durometer / Hardness Chart, and the Material Comparison table. These tools are provided “as-is” as a reference aid to support your own engineering judgment.
3.1 DXF Instant-Quote Estimator
The DXF Instant-Quote Estimator is an informational ballpark tool. Output values (material cost, tooling, lead time, per-unit price) are generated algorithmically from the geometry, material, quantity, and thickness inputs you provide. They do not reflect actual current pricing, material availability, lot sizes, tolerances, or production constraints, and they do not account for certifications (FDA, MIL-spec, USP Class VI), custom tooling modifications, secondary operations (PSA backing, pad printing, packaging), or freight.
The estimator output is:
- Not a formal quote.
- Not an offer to contract under California Commercial Code or the Uniform Commercial Code.
- Not legally binding on Cannon Gasket.
- Not an order. No order is placed, and no contract is formed, by use of the estimator.
- Provided for planning, internal comparison, and entertainment purposes only.
A binding quote is issued by Cannon Gasket only through the formal Request for Quote process and is subject to engineering review, material availability, and the terms and conditions on the written quote document itself. Any binding commercial agreement is governed by the written terms Cannon Gasket issues with a formal quote and by the purchase order you submit in response.
3.2 Reference tools (size charts, durometer, material comparison)
The AS568 O-Ring Size Chart, Durometer / Hardness Chart, and Material Comparison tool are provided as reference aids. Values are compiled from standard industry sources and manufacturer datasheets and may be rounded or simplified for display. Cannon Gasket does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of any value shown. For critical-specification decisions, consult the primary source (the material manufacturer datasheet, the governing industry standard, or Cannon Gasket's engineering team) before committing to a design.
Using a value from one of these tools does not create any warranty, and Cannon Gasket disclaims liability for design decisions made solely on tool output.
4. Request for Quote process
An RFQ submitted through the quote form, by phone (909.355.1547), by email (sales@cannongasket.com), or by any other channel is a request for Cannon Gasket to provide a quote, not an offer by Cannon Gasket to sell or an acceptance of any offer by you. Cannon Gasket reviews every RFQ and, at its discretion, issues a written quote that specifies pricing, lead time, quantity, material certifications, tolerances, and commercial terms.
The written quote, once issued, is the binding offer. It is valid for the period stated on the quote document (typically 30 days). A contract is formed when you submit a purchase order that accepts the quote.
5. Intellectual property and trademarks
All content on the Site, including text, images, layout, code, and the engineering tools, is owned by Cannon Gasket, Inc. or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SITE, TOOLS, AND ALL REFERENCE CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CANNON GASKET IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR THE TOOLS, EVEN IF CANNON GASKET HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. CANNON GASKET'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR TOOLS IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Warranties, remedies, and limitations of liability related to products you purchase from Cannon Gasket are governed by the written terms on the applicable Cannon Gasket quote and purchase-order acknowledgment, not by these Site Terms of Use.
7. Third-party links and AI-generated content
The Site may link to third-party websites, material manufacturer datasheets, standards organizations, and government resources. Cannon Gasket does not control and is not responsible for third-party content or terms.
The Site offers downloadable Claude Skill markdown files and hosts an AI-powered chat assistant. Output from the chat assistant and content produced by AI tools using our Skill files is generated by large language models and may contain errors, approximations, or outdated information. Treat AI output as a reference aid, not a specification. Confirm all material, dimensional, and regulatory claims with a formal RFQ before relying on them.
8. Privacy
Our handling of information you submit (RFQ form data, chat messages, analytics) is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. The parties waive any right to a jury trial.
10. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms of Use is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any written agreement related to a specific order, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cannon Gasket regarding use of the Site.
