Natural Rubber Diaphragms.
Natural rubber (NR) delivers the highest resilience and tear strength of any common elastomer, well suited to diaphragms that flex through millions of cycles. Cannon Gasket die-cuts natural rubber pump and actuator diaphragms in soft to medium durometers, with a latex-free polyisoprene grade available for biocompatibility concerns.

Properties of Natural Rubber diaphragms
Cannon Gasket cuts Natural Rubber diaphragms to your exact specifications. Natural rubber exhibits resistance to water, dilute acids, alcohols, and many organic chemicals, with outstanding resilience and abrasion resistance.
Natural Rubber tolerances and customization
Standard dimensional tolerances on Natural Rubber diaphragms land around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material thickness and profile. Tighter tolerances are available on selected grades. Cannon Gasket cuts Natural Rubber to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume. PSA backing, pad printing, custom packaging, and kitting are all on the menu when you need them.
How Natural Rubber Performs
As the working element in a pump or actuator, a natural rubber diaphragm recovers its shape after each stroke with very low energy loss, giving it the longest flex life and excellent fatigue resistance under repeated dynamic loading. Durometers are selected for stroke, pressure, and cycle target.
Where Natural Rubber Diaphragms Are Specified
- Diaphragm pump elements - Pneumatic and hydraulic actuators - Pressure regulator diaphragms - Metering and dosing pump diaphragms - Irrigation and water control valves - Vibration-isolating flexing diaphragms
Where Another Material May Fit Better
Natural rubber is not recommended for petroleum oils, fuels, or prolonged ozone and UV exposure.
Manufacturing Methods
Cannon Gasket die-cuts natural rubber diaphragms with custom convolutions and geometry, in-house, with fabric reinforcement available, from prototype through production, under ISO 9001 certification.
