Pool and Spa Sealing Applications

Pump bodies and impellers, filter housings, and plumbing connections each see a different combination of chlorinated water, pressure, and heat. Cannon uses EPDM and Viton for pump body and impeller seals in chlorinated water service, EPDM for sand and cartridge filter housing gaskets that hold under pressure, and EPDM with Buna-N at plumbing unions, ball valves, and check valves. Hot-water and heat-exchanger components call for higher-temperature materials, so Cannon specifies EPDM and silicone for heater service seals and uses silicone and EPDM for spa jet and air-line parts that run in high-temperature water.

Peroxide-cured EPDM handles compression set in sustained chlorinated pool service, Viton stands up to aggressive chemical-balanced water, and silicone covers high-temperature spa components. Buna-N suits the limited oil contact found in some heater equipment, and polyurethane serves high-wear pump components. Material choices also account for chlorine and bromine compatibility, and UV-stabilized formulations are used for components exposed to direct sunlight.

What should I send with an RFQ?
Ideal: a drawing or DXF, material spec (or compound family), estimated annual volume, and any regulatory callouts (FDA, USP Class VI, AS9100, MIL-spec). If you only have a sample or a part number from a competing supplier, send that and we will reverse-engineer the spec before quoting.
