The Interface Performance Materials product line
Interface compressed-fiber gaskets are a long-running standard in industries that need a non-asbestos cellulose or aramid-based gasket with a specific binder chemistry. Interface publishes an ASTM F-104 designation on every datasheet so the buyer can cross-reference density, compressibility, recovery, tensile, and fluid-resistance numbers against competing materials.
We cut all 36 grades below. Pick the family by application, then the specific code by service media. If you are cross-referencing a gasket already specified by an OEM or prior supplier, the PDF link on each row pulls the supplier datasheet.

Standard cellulose, SBR binder.
General-purpose, light-duty compressed cellulose gaskets with styrene butadiene rubber binders. Good for low-pressure flanges, irrigation manifolds, and consumer-duty sealing.

Nitrile-bound cellulose (oil, fuel, water).
Cellulose fiber bound with nitrile butadiene rubber. Resists petroleum fluids, coolant, and water. The workhorse family for automotive, pump, and compressor gasketing.

TS series, aramid + SBR (controlled-swell).
Aramid-reinforced styrene butadiene compounds tuned for controlled swell in water and dilute chemistries. Heavy-duty sealing where the media is water-side rather than oil-side.

Not sure which grade fits?
Interface’s 36-grade catalog is deep because the binder chemistry, fiber content, and cure state all drive performance. The short version of how to narrow down:
- Oil, fuel, or coolant contact? Start in the nitrile-bound family (CN-705, N-8090, NI-2085, NV-565) or step up to the TN series if the flange is also hot.
- Cylinder head or manifold? NI-2095A, NI-2096, NI-2097A, NI-2098, NI-2900, and NI-4002 are purpose-built for cylinder-head facing, often bonded to a steel core.
- Water or dilute chemistry? Use the controlled-swell TS series or the standard SBR-bound grades (2331, CS-301, S-207, SV-360) for lower-duty water service.
- Light-duty or prototype? 2331 or N-8051 cover general-purpose, low-pressure use without the cost of the aramid-reinforced grades.
